Classes we race
1300 Stockcar
The perfect doorway into 12th oval racing for everyone. 1300 Stockcars, the "little Brothers" of the Saloonstox just like in full scale oval racing. 1300's are fitted with tough plastic bumpers for some close nudge-and-spin racing. They are a great way for beginners to get into racing, but also a good place for the veterans of the sport to have some real close competition.
These cars run a basic 4 cell battery and brushed sealed can motor. They originated from the Mardave V12 chassis and there are now several manufactures, such as Kamtec, Mardave and TWR offering alternative GRP chassis and excellent ready to run kits.

2 Litre Saloonstox
Just like their full sized counterparts, the fast and aggressive driving make this one of the most entertaining classes to watch or compete in. Powerful, heavy and fitted with big plastic bumpers, you’re always guaranteed an action packed race!
The cars are originated from the Mardave V12 chassis and there is now a great array of ready to race kits being produced by Kamtec, Mardave and others.
The cars have an option of running either 6 cell NiMh with a simple brushed motor, or a Lipo and Brushless motor combo with a 10.5 motor limit.

Brushed Hotrod
The brushed hotrod class is one of fastest of all the RC oval classes and requires great skill to pilot the car around the oval in a non contact race.
The class utilises a brushed motor and 4 cell NiMh battery setup, these cars attract some highly skilled drivers and the racing can get quite intense!
The Brushed hotrod class works on the basis of a 1300 Stockcar without bumpers with the use of lexan shells. This allows racers to try the class without the change of vehicle. The cars weigh much less than a 1300 Stockcar which makes their power delivery much more instant and economical.

Classic Hotrod
HOT's Classic Hotrods are a slightly more reserved version of the 1300 stockcar and brushed hotrod. The Classic hotrod formula in it's current form was designed as a "safe haven" for drivers wanting to race a non-contact class without the fear of "getting in the way" of the seasoned non-contact racers. The class is designed to represent full size short oval Hotrods up until the year 1990. These cars use a 4 cell NiMh brushed setup with with a choice of sealed can motor and a gearing restriction to reduce the overall speed a little.

Outlaw F2
Outlaw F2's are purpose built, open wheeled, single seater stockcars which are the "little Brothers" of the F1 Stockcars in full scale oval racing. Whilst at HOT's we race the Outlaw F2's in radio controlled form, the F1 stockcars tend to be fairly absent in the south. This is the same in the full scale racing as well.
These cars run a basic 4 cell NiMh battery with the choice of a brushed sealed can motor or a price limited, fixed timing 17.5 brushless combo. They are the only class at HOT's to race in anti-clockwise direction. The club runs to the DOT Racing national ruleset and there are now several manufactures such as Kamtec, DOT, Mardave, DGA, Avenger to list a few.
